I’ll probably make typos because I’m too excited to write–as promised, I’m telling you of our first victory “sprinkling” (Book 6) our proclamation wallet cards.
I gave away two sets at a meeting today! I had two sets with me.
Both were the result of questions about how we are spending our holidays.
I had this vivid realization that I’ve always tried to find a way to mention the word Baha’i or Baha’u’llah, but I never had this framework of systematization before.
When the Faith was mentioned, both were receptive to taking the card set.
Whether they follow up or not, I’m just thrilled that I was prepared this time, having set aside an opportunity when I had the encounter with my new hairdresser, which motivated me to have a plan which inspired me to make the cards.

Teaching Team Partner,
Congrats! That is a very significant move forward/victory. Now, you can figure out ways to befriend these people. When you discuss things to do with life, you can refer to what guidance from the Teachings helped you. If a chance to discuss the Faith specifically, better yet. It will be interesting to see how things pan out. No matter what, I expect that good will come out of it. After all, we don’t ditch “proclamation” just because our emphasis is in other places!
I am way behind you. Cleaned out purse yesterday and found my packet. Got your lovely bags for cards in the mail Will have to wait for opportunity to use printer to make for cards. Still, finding and remembering where packet is indicates progress for me (the normally not very well organized one)! You are teaching me to do better! Pray for a chance for me to print soon!
Another victory – we are accompanying each other.
We consult about topics related to teaching and how to live our lives. This is an example of this type of consultation]:
Dear Teaching Team Partner,
I am sincerely trying to “let go” and do God’s will for me. I am not sure what the “procedure” for this is, but I just mentally ask God to help me with this.
Today, here is what came to me when I was journaling after morning prayer time: When I was showering, some ideas came to my mind that I just had to write down! So I proceeded to write them down in my journal, in the morning, so it became “morning pages” a la Julia Cameron (The Artist’s Way). Here is what I wrote:
“NQ” (this means Nona Quotes)
“Love is the strongest force in the world. Nothing can ever defeat it.” — Nona
“What the world needs most is love, love, and more love.” — Nona
“What the world needs most is love, love, and more love. JN, you are the embodiment of that love.” — Nona
[Added border of hearts down the side of the page and a border of stars under the last quote]
Then I added a picture of a light bulb and rays coming out from it (my symbol for a new “idea” I have come up with). “Hand-made book with heart, star, borders in scrapbook style.
[border of stars]
“Cat = Living Art” [in fancy lettering]
[Another border; this time with squiggles with a heart over them and a moon/or half heart under the squiggles]
“Pat the Cat Book with Cat Quotes”
[border that goes “purr (heart) purr (heart) purr (heart)” all the way across the page]
“Sincerely wanting to do God’s will at start of day. Burst of creativity in arts and the written word, making me happy, happy, happy. I love it. I want it all the time. I want to turn my life over to God because it is so much fun, makes me happy and do good. Am I selfish? Or, is this how it is supposed to be? Does this = the love of God? Heartfelt love of God? Ask Teaching Team Partner! God bless Teaching Team Partner, Dwight, and Pat the Cat! Kim and Jami and the list goes on and on and on!”
“My friend: God. My teacher: God. Creator of my ideas: God My love: God”
Teachng Team Partner, this might not be the greatest writing or artwork, but it is original; it is mine. I can use words in mixed media pieces and not have to worry about copyright violation!
Do you think I am getting the idea of doing God’s will or am I off the track. Don’t know where to look in Writings about this subject!
Looking forward to your response.
PS – I plan to e-mail JN with the quote I wrote about him. Sad that he wants to work on Xmas Day – his way of coping with grief.
Teaching Team Partner Response:
Quotes, my bolding:
Magnified be Thy name, O my Lord, for Thou hast enabled me to recognize the Manifestation of Thine own Self, and hast caused me to be assured of the truth of the verses which have descended upon Thee. Empower me, I implore Thee, to cling steadfastly unto whatsoever Thou hast bidden me observe. Help me to guard the pearls of Thy love which, by Thy decree, Thou hast enshrined within my heart. Send down, moreover, every moment of my life, O my God, that which will preserve me from any one but Thee, and will set my feet firm in Thy Cause. – Baha’u’llah, Prayers and Meditations, CV, pp4
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.
“My teaching partner asked that I add the above section, written earlier this morning, to the teaching report. This section shows how we support one another. Our supporting each other and providing feedback and suggestions about our partner’s plans and progress is an essential part of why we believe our team works so well.
Report from Teaching Team Partner
I just read every single word of both reports.
(did I say wow?)
It’s accurate, moving, and funny…well, just totally lovable you!
I can think of only one thing to add that I believe is an important aspect to be included– our Participation at the Cluster Level.
It’s the complementary part of the Book 6 practice after the Personal Teaching Plan.
The first thing we did was to make an annotated Address Book of contacts. This included our Auxiliary Board members, our Cluster coordinators, and our Area Teaching Committee members. (We have done this a second time, when the positions of these key people changed.) We attempted to contact these people, inviting them to consult with us, informing them of our activities, inviting them to our homes. We notated each person’s availability and focus to better maintain reliable contact with the Cluster.
After that, we made efforts to attend our Cluster Reflection Gatherings as our personal circumstances have permitted.
I’m a prayer partner for our expansion phases, so I’m always contacting the ATC about the current Intensive Program of Growth. Also, our Cluster Institute Coordinator and a member of the Area Teaching Committee accompany our Study Circle by attending it from time to time.
You have made a strong connection with your Auxiliary Board member, and with her past appointed position and your friend on the Regional Council, etc. …
You have worked with the children and are trained to work with the junior youth.
You have had positive contact with a youth in your community, and have the capacity and training to work with those who are on the vanguard of entry by troops at the Cluster level. I believe when you continue your higher education, you will be positioned to support the youth at the level of the collective action of the Cluster.—
Let me know what you think about including this topic in our report.
Teaching Team Partner.
Thanks for your wonderful feedback. I am thrilled by your contributions to my report. That, I believe, is also what a good teaching team is about – our working together as a team. I believe that both of us together are far more effective than we are as individuals!
My response (above) was written today. This interchange provides yet another example about how my partner and I support one another in our endeavours to teach and consolidate.
Of course I told my Teaching Team Partner that I would add her section in its entirety!
I hope that this report will be of assistance to the friends as we learn from another about teaching teams and how they can help team members to grow as people and teach the Faith more effectively.
